Basic Oversized Tee is meant to be a wardrobe staple for everyday wear. This top was designed with an oversized fit, suitable for any activities and look. The length is easily customisable.

The construction starts from top down, worked in individual panels, before joining back to form the body. The neckline sits just above the cleavage, cleverly designed with a subtle scallop edge to give a soft look. The top finishes with a crab stitch edging to give a rugged unfinished look.

This pattern is suitable for beginners who wishes to jumpstart into making garments or for makers who is looking for a mindless project. The simplicity of the pattern allows a shorter making period.

PATTERN DETAILS

DIFFICULTY: Confident beginners

Gauge: 19cm x 10-12 rows = 10cm x 10cm / 4x4” in double crochet after blocking

Sizes Available: 1 (2, 3, 4)

Recommended Ease: 10 - 20cm/ 4-8”

Chest Circumference: 72-82cm (88-98cm, 105-115cm, 126-136cm)

Yarn & Meterage required: Light to Heavy Fingering yarn

Hook Sizes: 3.5mm for body and 4.0mm for edging, or size required to obtain gauage

Other Materials: 2 stitch markers, 1 darning needle

As a rule of thumb, you'll need minimum 3 skeins of any fingering yarn / 5 skeins of DK yarn , to make a top of a decent length.

For cropped tops or sizes below UK10, 2 skeins of fingering yarn can make a basic top.

Crochet
Below UK10, 3 skeins of fingering yarn and 5 Skeins of DK yarn

Kindly ensure sufficient yarn is purchased from the same batch as repeated runs will be visually different
